Certification
Programs
Certification
is a cornerstone of the services provided by Innovative Growers to
its customers.
The vision of
Innovative Growers is to have various levels of certification programs
that customers can choose from. All Innovative Growers members may
be required to conform to minimum certification requirements established
by Innovative Growers. All members are currently required to use the
Iowa Crop Management Database to track IP grains.
In addition, Innovative
Growers offers the option of using ISO (International Standards Organization)
as a quality system to ensure quality standards are being met. Innovative
Growers will not require that all of its members be ISO certified.
However, we expect that, over time, most of our members will want
to become certified.
ISO 9001-2000
is a quality production certification. It is a self-created checklist
of functions, policies, and rules considered necessary to assure the
quality of a company's products and services.
International
Standards Organization (ISO) is an internationally recognized science-based
group which provides quality-monitoring standards from an external
auditing of procedures and processes used by the producer. ISO is
currently recognized in over 170 countries world wide, allowing potential
overseas customers the assurances they expect in grain quality control
issues.
Future plans may
incorporate ISO 14,000-2000 into our production program. This is an
environmental certification that can be combined with the 9001 specifications.
